Mark Newlon > Memphis, Tennessee

What could be more of a roadtrip destination than Graceland, Elvis Presley's lavish Memphis dwelling? I was actually quite surprised at how homey this place felt.
Mark Newlon > A pilgrimage to the Geographical Center of North America in Rugby, North Dakota yielded more questions than answers. For instance, what's the difference between "geographic" and "geographical"?
Mark Newlon > The West Acres Mall in Fargo, North Dakota, pays tribute to Fargo's favorite son, Roger Maris, who usurped Babe Ruth's long-standing single-season Major League home run record in 1961. A museum dedicated to Roger and his manifold accomplishments is located here. Visitors are free to peruse Maris artifacts at their leisure.
Mark Newlon > This is part of the Adobe Indian ruins at Petrified Forest National Park. Please, allow me a little rant here: If I petitioned to build a house on national parkland, even an attractive, tasteful one, I'd be laughed out of the office and the Bridge Club ladies would faint. Develop property in a national park? Perish the thought! Yet, if a house is sufficiently old (hundreds of years old in this case), the National Park Service builds access roads and people drive for miles around to see it, even if it's a crumbling ruin. I ask you, is this fair? I promise you, my house would look a lot nicer than this dump.

Mark Newlon > Austin, Texas

The True Hope Church of Jesus Christ and Hot Dog Stand in Austin, Texas, appeared to be out of business when this picture was taken several years ago. And someone had scratched out the bit about the hot dog stand.
Mark Newlon > Goodland, Kansas

Pilgrims the world over flock to Goodland to pay homage to the World's Largest Easel, seen here displaying the World's Largest Van Gogh Replica.
